It’s Tough Time for Youtubers now…
After April 1st a bad news has taken place all over the YouTube world that many advertisers pulled their ads from Youtube and some news channels and newspapers have confirmed this news like CNBC, Indianexpress, economictimes, Thehindubusinessline & an international newspaper like Times of London. The reason behind this unexpected decision taken by advertisers is that the advertisers are saying that their ads are appearing on bad, provoking, violent and hate videos. According to an article published in Indianexpress hundreds of ISIS videos emerging on YouTube & showcasing violent and inappropriate videos and promoting bad messages. Advertisers want to have more control over the content where their ads are appearing they are more concerned about their reputation and in some countries, they are ordered to pull their ads from YouTube by their government as well. YouTube is a fastest and the largest revenue generator for Google so it is going to be a big trauma for Google to tackle with. This entire ad appearing on the offensive, derogatory and violent videos are primarily investigated by Times of London after that, this entire boycott incident took place. Brands like: Mark & Spencer, HSBC, Johnson & Johnson, AT & T & in the UK also advertising campaigns has been suspended with the brands like Audi, Toyota the Guardian, RBS, McDonald’s and Now Google has decided to take a strong action to resolve this problem. In an email to CNBC a Google spokesperson said that YouTube has taken some strict actions against this:
It will hire significant numbers of people now.
New machine-learning systems which help enforce our revised policies, identifying content that may be objectionable to advertisers.
New rapid response path reducing the review time for flagged videos to just a few hours.
New default settings which meet a higher level of brand safety for where ads can appear on YouTube.
New account-level controls that let advertisers exclude specific sites, channels, and videos across all their campaigns to simplify brand safety management.
Additional sensitive subject classifiers to make it easier for brands to exclude high-risk content and fine-tune where they want their ads to appear.
These are the moves which are going to be in the action and this time YouTube is going to be very strict. It has already been proved recently. YouToube has taken it’s the first action by applying a new rule, that from now onwards for any new YouToube channel monetization will be disabled until the channel’s total views reach to 10k after that only you will be able to verify your channel from YouTube authorities.
