Reliance Jio has launched its Zero Price 4Genabled phone. This plan is launched by keeping the low-income consumer in mind. You can buy this phone at the one-time refundable payment of Rs. 15,00/- that is why it is called zero price phone. Ambani at the launch said, “Today, Jio is going to reinvent the conventional feature phone. Let me introduce India ka Intelligent Smart Phone.” Pre booking of the phones will start from August 24 and it will be sold on the first come first serve basis. You can get the recharge of Rs. 153/- for one year. COAI Director General Rajan S Mathews said Reliance Jio offer is clever marketing position… they are saying the handset price is effectively zero. So no license fee, spectrum usage charge has to be paid on that. Government will have to look at what sale of price for zero means,”

Although Company has not clearly declared from where they are sourcing or who is making the device in the long run but initially it will be sourced from China including some other vendors and Intex will also be one of the manufacturers. The company has targeted 5 million phone shipped in a week.
